Natural Gas Fired Project Development – With a development and financing track record of more than 8,000 MW of greenfield independent power projects, CPV has the most talented development team in North America

Backed by $200 million in development funding from Warburg Pincus, CPV has embarked on an aggressive development program for natural gas fired power generation facilities, focused primarily on clean natural gas. The Company has directed its development effort at regions in the U.S. and Canada that need new generating capacity within the time horizon needed to develop and build those resources. Because of its ability to balance the demands of system reliability, project economics and social responsibility, CPV does not shy away from markets with rigorous permitting and operational criteria – frequently the markets with the greatest need for efficient, reliable state-of-the-art capacity.

CPV has vast experience in all phases of development: concept, market analysis, community relations, permitting (local, state and federal), financing, construction and commercial operation. The CPV team also has a long and successful track record in the sale, finance and acquisition of power plants with a combined transactional experience of over 25,000 MW. Our people have demonstrated a special ability to successfully permit, finance and build power plants in complex environments and markets.

Our approach to development is one of openness and interaction. In dealing with our host communities, potential power offtakes and the regulatory community, CPV believes that dialogue and compromise is the best approach for all of the stakeholders, and ultimately for the success of the project itself. We deal with the highest quality equipment and service suppliers with the greatest knowledge of the locality and the concerns of the citizenry. Together, we put together projects that are clean, reliable, efficient, safe, economically viable and a lasting benefit to their community and the local power market.

A key factor is the close, personal involvement of the company's principals and management in the process. We like to talk straight, roll up our sleeves and get things done. It shows in our very high percentage of successful development.
