 CPV Staff West Coast Office

SILVER SPRING, MD - Competitive Power Ventures has hired Brian Kunz to open a new west coast office and to lead the expansion of CPV's power project development activities in California and other western states.

Brian Kunz has joined CPV as Vice President and Regional Executive to run the west coast office for the Company. Previously Brian was with PPM Energy where he was responsible for wind power project development in California. Kunz's hiring corresponds to a recent announcement that CPV has come to an agreement with private equity firm Warburg Pincus on funding of up to $200 million for new fossil fuel power generation development nationwide. The west coast office will be a resource for the Company's wind development and asset management functions as well as the fossil development program.

Kunz previously worked with members of CPV's senior management at PG&E National Energy Group where he was Director of Development.
