CPV Targets Bigger Deals With Ex-InterGen Hire Thursday April 6, 2006 Competitive Power Ventures is looking to land larger development and acquisition opportunities and has hired an ex-InterGen official to lead the push. John Foster, former senior v.p.-investments and portfolio management at InterGen, recently joined CPV in the new position of senior v.p. for corporate development. Doug Egan, CPV's president & ceo, told SparkSpread the Silver Spring, Md.-based company is looking to take advantage of major development and acquisition opportunities. "We're seeing more opportunities than we can take advantage of," Egan says, noting that prior to Foster's hire CPV did not have a dedicated business development officer. Egan and Foster previously worked together at J. Makowski Co., where Egan was v.p. of development. At InterGen, Foster was responsible for developing the 750 MW Rosarito plant and the 600 MW Bajio project, both in Mexico. Prior to leaving the company last year he was actively involved in the sale of the InterGen North America portfolio.
